What is the relationship between citizens and your CP? On what level did they interact? How can citizen participation affect your CP?

EHP was origninally structured to feed the hungry in East Palo Alto, an area once known for its violence and poverty, the organization arose from a local need to contribute to the common good and to serve to the dignity of everyone, regardless of their background. They interact on an incredibly personal level. One of the reasons this program spoke to me was because they service to the needs of everyone, including the local youth. Games, art shows and parent teacher conferences are attend by staffers due to the lack of resources and time of some parents. They celebrate the success of the children and teens and the staff encourages their development as individuals.

If  citizens were interested in volunteering, duties would consist of pulling weeds. planting in the organic garden that provides fresh and organic vegetables to over 150 families and if also needed duties consist of organizing EHP’s “Clothes Closet”. With almost 200 families on the waiting list, The “Clothes Closet” gives individuals and families the opportunity to pick out clothes from a small warehouse and provides them with the opportunity to go on a waiting list in hopes of larger donations like tables, refrigerators, and desks.

In what sense did your CP arise from a local need or perspective? is your CP constrained or otherwise affected by Federal policies? To whom is your CP accountable? 

Due to scheduling conflicts I have switched my CP to to the East Palo Alto based organization, Ecumenical Hunger Program. EHP began providing families with the direct services needed to survive and thrive. EHP is committed to applying their attention to the necessary means for individuals and families to survive, food. Along with their dedication to eradicating hunger when seen, they are a committed organization that distributes clothes, large furniture, household essential, referrals and case management services to the local community. Not only do they aid hungry families but they support each and every single individual and family that reaches out to them.

AVID is a superb program that aims to fulfill student triumph in the Common Core State Standards. The program holds students liable in providing quality work. Mary Catherine Swanson, a regular teacher founded AVID in hopes of providing aid to underserved students and giving them access to a college education. AVID, like other after school programs, are created to close the achievement gap. This gap is traditionally referenced in context of standardized test scores, college enrollments and grade point averages. Students in "the middle" go through the U.S. educational system without the same acknowledgment and accreditation as others. Meaning that when some students graduate from high school, they may not be fully prepared for the meticulousness college requires. Due to the program receiving funding from the state, my CP is accountable to the federal government.
